Responsabilidades del trabajo

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for all aspects of the legal aspects in the Santiago office and it will participate in the implementation of several legal initiatives across the region.

This position will report directly to Regional Legal Counsel of Latin America and it will be part of the Global Legal Team under the leadership of the global CLO of the company, and will be based in Santiago.

The candidate should seek to become a high quality and well respected individual to help grow and develop this business. The successful candidate will spearhead Golder’s capabilities. The right individual will be given the autonomy to guide and develop the business wherever he/she foresees the maximum growth potential.

Key Responsibilities:
* Be part of the company’s regional legal team, reporting directly to the Regional Legal Leader.
* Ensure fulfillment of internal company policies.
* Provide assistance in labor-related issues.
* Review contracts in which the company is involved, whether they are with clients, suppliers, or service providers.
* Support the different business units by negotiating suitable, reasonable contractual terms for the company, following the risk guidelines established by the company at a corporate level.
* Continuously provide legal advice to the company’s management and administrative teams, being responsible for drafting the documents required to comply with applicable regulations.
* Provide legal advice in the company’s internal and external audits.
* Coordinate external legal services.
* Keep company books and records.
* Any other functions that are in line with his/her position and assigned to him/her by the company.

Requisitos del trabajo
* 5 to 7 years of experience in a consulting, construction, or infrastructure company or a medium-sized law firm;
* Proven knowledge of contract negotiation, risk assessment, and corporate, labor, and commercial law;
* English (upper-intermediate)
* Masters’ Degree not a requirement, but desirable;
* Proactive and business-oriented person
* Portuguese will be considered a plus
