Job Responsibilities:
Golder Associates is seeking a third or fourth year Environmental / Civil Engineering Student to work in our Ottawa office in our Environmental/Civil Engineering Group. The student will work on waste management, land development and/or water treatment environmental projects; with work being primarily within the office, providing engineering and/or scientific input on a variety of projects under the direction of our Project Managers.

Specific tasks that you would be involved with may include:
* Assisting project managers with groundwater and surface water data management, analysis and interpretation;
* Assisting with managing various environmental projects and deadlines;
* Assisting with engineering report and proposal preparation;
* Assisting with designs of drainage, grading, utilities, underground services and roadways for residential, commercial and institutional sites, many in the rural area;
* Assisting with the design and evaluation of on-site or communal sewage treatment and water supply systems;
* Carrying out stormwater management calculations and design;
* Assist senior and intermediate project engineers within the group with field investigation programs; drilling, test pitting, soil sampling, monitoring well installations, aquifer testing, groundwater and surface water sampling, etc;
* Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for proposed engineering and other works; and
* Performing other duties as assigned and required.

Job Requirements:
If you have a strong interest in environmental or civil engineering and have following background and skills we encourage you to apply!
* Completion of second year of a Civil or Environmental Engineering undergraduate program ;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Strong technical skills and critical thinking skills are essential;
* Solid academic achievements;
* Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel; and
* A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
* Access to a vehicle for field work.
