Golder is seeking a Junior Acoustics, Noise and Vibration Engineer / Specialist to join its dynamic consulting team in the Environmental Services Division based in the GTA (Mississauga). The focus of this position will be on working with multi-disciplinary teams on a broad range of projects both in the field and in the office including environmental noise and vibration studies and building acoustics related projects.

Primary responsibilities will include:
* Working closely with experienced consultants to develop solutions for client concerns related to acoustic, noise and vibration;
* Carrying out field work to gather noise and vibration data using specialized measurement equipment;
* Assembling data for analysis and presentation in reports (namely noise and vibration modelling, data analysis and emission inventory development);
* Assist in the development and maintenance of systems and tools that support the operations of the Acoustics, Noise and Vibration Group;
* Developing project management skills and providing assistance to project managers;
* Demonstrating a “Safety First” attitude and acting as a role model to other staff; and
* Maintaining a high standard of ethical behavior to uphold Golder’s reputation and demonstrating a commitment to Golder’s Culture, Core Values and Code of Conduct.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Relevant University Degree in engineering, physics, or equivalent education and experience;
* Eligibility to apply for Engineering-in-Training (EIT) status with the PEO would be an asset;
* Completed at least one undergraduate course in controls and vibration;
* An ability and willingness to learn new and challenging concepts;
* Experience with noise prediction modelling software such as CadnaA would be an asset;
* Well-developed computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Desktop applications and programming in either LabVIEW, MATLAB, Visual Basic, C++,FORTRAN,C) would be an asset;
* Willingness and ability to carry out field work, locally, nationally or internationally, at various project sites (e.g., industrial, mining, aggregate, oil & gas, power generation, etc.) under all weather conditions and at varying times of the day;
* Familiarity with Ontario’s noise guidelines would be an asset;
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills;
* Having mechanical aptitude, capable of diagnosing and repairing field equipment;
* Self-motivated and have the ability to meet deadlines;
* Possess strong critical analysis and reporting skills;
* Ability to work in a collegial environment; and,
* Valid Ontario Driver’s license and vehicle.
