Job Responsibilities

Golder Associates is seeking a Water Resources Intern to join the Mine Water Division to provide water engineering services with regards to mine water management and assessment and water balance evaluation. This is a temporary position for a period of six months.

* Assist with the specific Water Research Commission project focused on Water Conservation / Water Demand Management
* Conduct site visits to assess mine water management
* Collect and collate data and information relevant for the assessment of the water saving initiatives
* Analyse and assess data and perform water balance calculations
* Conduct telephone interviews / surveys
* Conduct presentations to mines and at WRC reference group meetings
* Report writing

Job Requirements

* Degree / Diploma in Civil/Chemical Engineering Minimum
* 0 -1 Years’ experience post-graduation
* High attention to details, understands concepts of water management industry
* MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook , MS Projects

* The employee has basic skills in core technical areas and limited specialist skills.
* Works with specific and regular direction from intermediate and senior staff.
* Interacts regularly with the direct line of report and project manager.
* Makes decisions only in limited situations with direction from intermediate and senior staff.
* Delivers project activities linked to the day to day project requirements with a major focus on data collection.
