Job Responsibilities:
Golder Associates is seeking a Wildlife Technician/Junior Terrestrial Biologist to join our Biophysical team in in our Prairies and North operation (Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon locations).

As a valued member of the Biophysical Group, you will have the ability to thrive in an atmosphere that supports cooperation and teamwork to provide quality, solution-oriented consulting services for our clients.

Responsibilities include:
* Leading wildlife field surveys including breeding bird, avian use, migratory bird nest surveys.
* Supporting other biophysical surveys such as rare plant, wetland, weeds, and soils.
* Providing environmental construction monitoring support for a variety of projects.
* Showing attention to detail – in the field, summarizing data and report writing.
* Able to develop positive working relationships in a team environment.
* Participate in Golder and Client H&S programs and policies.

Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
* A University Degree or College Diploma specializing in wildlife, environmental science, biology, ecology, or related specialization with a minimum of 2 years’ related experience.
* Professional Designation or potential to obtain designation with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (P.Biol).
* Experience in the environmental industry (Oil and Gas, Energy and Utilities) conducting wildlife surveys, particularly leading breeding bird point count, avian use, migratory bird nesting and amphibian surveys in western Canada strongly preferred.
* Ability to lead wildlife surveys and assessments and conduct construction monitoring.
* Knowledgeable of the Federal and Provincial regulatory framework.
* Experience with data management, analysis and interpretation, and determination of appropriate mitigation measures.
* Willingness to travel and participate in remote field work, primarily within western Canada and ability to adapt to unpredictable and/or inclement field conditions and changing schedules.
* Effective communication skills.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented, and suited to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Valid driver’s license.
* Experience with digital data collection is an asset.
* The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
