Job Responsibilities:

Golder Associates Ltd. is a nationally recognized, award winning ground engineering and environmental engineering firm with offices nationwide. In order to respond to existing Oil & Gas client requests for a wider variety of services within the region, Golder is continuing to expand its operations and is seeking a Senior Consultant to develop and manage the Oil & Gas services segment of our business within the Edmonton office. The consultant will have the ability to demonstrate competence in business development and industry networking and full technical competence of environmental permitting and regulatory requirements associated with exploration, drilling, production, gas processing, remediation and reclamation as they relate to the oil and gas industry within Alberta and British Columbia. Key responsibilities would include the following:

Business Development
- Identifying and developing strategic business opportunities
- Working with regional operational leadership and local champions to understand sector growth potential and capacity building requirements
- Working closely with the leadership team to plan, schedule, and manage business development efforts targeting key or prospective clients in the O&G industry operating within Western Canada, identifying and developing applicable marketing strategies for each
- Identifying, developing, and/or maintaining client contacts with key prospects
- Working closely with management and technical staff to strengthen existing business ties
- Facilitating relationship-building activities and assisting with the development of key client relationship management skill sets for technical staff
- Participating in inter-office client service teams and strategic initiatives
- Participating in the development of proposal strategy and assisting with the preparation of proposals and qualification packages
- Assisting in identifying conference and tradeshow presentation opportunities Regulatory Assistance
- Understanding applicable environmental federal and provincial permitting and regulatory requirements
- Providing technical guidance on complex environmental permitting and regulatory issues
- Formulating and promoting sound and cost-effective recommendations that support business objectives
- Providing senior oversight on the preparation and release of reports, technical memos, and other documents
- Representing the company or clients at environmental and regulatory hearings and meetings
- Supporting the implementation of applicable environmental and regulatory programs.


Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a field related to biological sciences, environmental management, engineering or geology
- An in depth knowledge of the O&G industry
- A minimum of 10 years experience in field operations within the environmental or O&G industry
- An understanding of existing regulatory requirements and the ability to effectively communicate the existing and new requirements
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership ability
- An ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes
- Willingness and ability to travel.
