Job Responsibilities:
We have a requirement for an Aquatic Biologist in our Prairies and North operation.

Responsibilities include:
* Preparing first drafts of proposals and reports in response to client needs
* Applying technical and scientific knowledge, training and experience for projects and proposals in aquatic ecology, including study design, application of methodologies and techniques for field, laboratory and office work, data and statistical analysis, and report preparation
* Conducting literature reviews and data interpretation and analysis
* Conducting fish and fish habitat evaluations for various types of multi-disciplinary projects and developments
* Working on components of environmental assessment projects for various types of developments including power, mines, oil and gas facilities, and pipelines
* Developing offsetting strategies and preparing components of environmental assessments related to fish and fish habitat
* Designing and undertaking fish and fish habitat field evaluations, and participating in field programs (e.g., collection of water, sediment, benthic invertebrates, fish and fish habitat data)
* Working with multi-disciplinary teams and developing positive working relationships in a team environment
* Preparing quality reports on time, within scope, and within budget
* Participating in Golder and Client H&S programs
* Interacting with clients and representatives from regulatory agencies

Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* University degree in Aquatic Biology or Environmental Sciences with a minimum of 2 years' related experience
* Excellent technical writing, communication, and project management skills
* Experience conducting fish habitat and fish community assessments
* Experience on multi-disciplinary projects
*

Professional designations (P.Biol. or CPESC) strongly preferred.

The following skills are desirable:
* Project development, design, management and implementation experience
* Experience in environmental assessment and/or offsetting planning
* Consulting industry experience with knowledge of aquatic biology and working knowledge of fisheries requirements related to industrial developments
* Strong working knowledge of aquatic ecosystems within western and northern Canada
* Knowledge of provincial and Federal environmental regulatory and permitting requirements
* Good outdoor and survival skills and experience working in remote areas and experience operating boats and motors
* Experience with data analysis, statistics, report writing
