Job Responsibilities:

Golder Associates’ Calgary Design and Project Delivery Division has established a Project Management and Controls Group to formally manage large scale field programs and detailed design assignments in order to more effectively deliver integrated solutions to our clients.

We are currently seeking a number of Project Managers to take projects from the conceptual stages through to detailed design and into construction. The Project Managers will have overall responsibility for achieving the project goals for schedule, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities include:
- Project development in collaboration with Golder senior management;
- Support the proposal preparation, scope definition and risk assessment of the project, and develop an appropriate execution plan;
- Work in close collaboration with a Design Manager and Construction Manager;
- Identify in-house and third-party resources needed and assign individual responsibilities;
- Execute all aspects of the project in accordance with the contract;
- Oversee Golder’s HSE program on each project;
- Implement and execute effective change management;
- Provide project leadership and mentoring of team personnel;
- Work with the project controls team to provide regular and accurate tracking of incurred costs and forecasts of costs and completion milestones;
- Prepare monthly project status reports and final project completion reports; and
- Manage and maintain the client relationship;
- Overseeing application of Golder’s ISO 9001:2000 certified Qualify Assurance program at the project level. Please Note: Competition will close on October 31, 2012.

Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- University degree in engineering, earth sciences or a related field augmented by formal project management training;
- At least eight (8) to fifteen (15) years of practical experience as a Project Manager, preferably from the EPCM, oil and gas, or mining sectors;
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred;
- Experience working on civil infrastructure and/or geotechnical engineering projects;
- Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to maintain an effective team;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Available to travel and extended working hours, when required.
