Job Responsibilities:
Golder Associates is currently seeking an Environmental Planning & Permitting Specialist in the area of Power and Renewable Energy to work within a team of talented professionals in the Prairies and North Operation (PNO).

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and build a sustainable EP&P business for various power and renewable energy projects and clients in the PNO. A key function of this role involves direct interaction with clients, and with other Golder technical specialists in various offices around the Golder group of companies.

Responsibilities may include:
* Serve as a practice leader in the EP&P business across the life cycle of project work, from pre-feasibility assessment, through the regulatory approval process, and into construction and post-construction monitoring, and post-closure reclamation;
* Serve as a practice leader for project development and delivery (proposals, project management, client relations, senior reviews, team development and training);
* Work to build and maintain both existing and new client relationships as well as relationships with regulatory agencies;
* Keep abreast of the regulatory requirements and expectations in the various jurisdictions across the PNO;
* Work to connect and build relationships with other Golder staff engaged in EP&P around the company, through constructive engagement and collaboration;
* Work to build business opportunities with other Golder staff around the company;
* Arrange technical presentations and webinars in the person’s areas of expertise;
* Work with Principals and Associates to develop and maintain expertise in technologies to serve key business interests; and
* Contribute to a culture of health, safety and protection of the environment by being a role model to junior and new staff and by giving industry and site perspectives to inexperienced staff and contribute to the development, streamlining and automation of safety related documentation.

Job Requirements:
* Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline;
* At least 8 years relevant EP&P experience; preferable in a consulting capacity combined with operational planning experience;
* Business development and client service management skills with a proven track record of developing project opportunities and maintaining successful client relationships; strong existing client relationships and professional contacts are highly desirable;
* Have previous experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, projects and preparing technical reports;
* Practice good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies;
* Have a good aptitude for using and understanding computer applications; and
* Have excellent communication and report writing skills.
