Job Responsibilities:
Golder Associates is seeking a Credit & Collections Coordinator for the Calgary, Alberta office location.

The main focus of the Credit & Collections Coordinator is to collect receivables in an effort to keep our DSO at 75 days. The Credit & Collections Coordinator will also develop and nurture a strong working relationship with Project Managers and related internal staff as well as clients towards the ultimate goal of collecting our A/R in a timely manner. The Credit & Collections Coordinator will also be involved in all Credit & Collection matters for the relevant portfolio of accounts, while providing back up support to other accounts as required, ensuring the success of the team.

Responsibilities Include:
* Work in partnership with Project Managers / Division Mangers and Billing personnel to resolve client related issues;
* Advising and supporting the Project Managers / Division Managers and Billing personnel;
* Maintain follow up notes in collection module in BST;
* Communicate A/R essentials;
* Meet with appropriate personnel to communicate key AR information such as status of accounts;
* Credit and Collections for Portfolio of Accounts;
* Resolve overdue A/R issues efficiently and tactfully through telephone/email contact with clients;
* Identify and escalate client issues towards resolution/recovery of debt;
* Escalate issues to the National Credit & Collections Manager as appropriate;
* File Maintenance;
* Carry out file maintenance and ensure accuracy of clients’ records;
* Mail monthly Account statements to clients unless appropriately directed by Project Manager not to do so;
* Develop collection strategies as needed;
* Evaluate Accounts to be sent to Collection Agency;
* Recommendations on specific accounts to be sent to a third party for collection are forwarded to the National Credit & Collections Manager as appropriate for action;
* Occasional travel between other Golder offices; and,
* Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.

Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in collection or client services, ideally in a professional service industry;
* Diploma and/or Degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent);
* Completed, or a desire to complete CCP designation with the Credit Institute of Canada is an asset;
* A background in bookkeeping is a definite asset;
* Strong presentation, written, and verbal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization;
* Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times;
* Able to work effectively as a part of a remote team as well as independently;
* Attention to detail in all areas of work;
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively are critical;
* Motivated individual with proven initiative;
* Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail are required;
* Experience with accounting systems (BST experience preferred);
* High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts;
* Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills;
* Demonstrated working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and an in-depth knowledge of current accounting practices;
* Ability to interpret and implement company accounting policies and procedures;
* A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to other offices as needed; and,
* Ability to be flexible and adaptable to the company’s culture and processes.
