Position:
Golder Construction Inc. is seeking a Corporate Administrative Assistant for the Greater Vancouver (Burnaby) office.
Please note that this is currently a temporary position for coverage of an extended leave. However, there may be the possibility of an extension or placement in another position within the company after this time.
The successful candidate will report to the President and Business Operations Leader, and offer general administrative support to the rest of the national management team.
Duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Working with and anticipating the needs of the President and Business Operations Leader;
- Tracking key performance indicators and priorities;
- Working with confidential information and documentation;
- Organizing all aspects of executive meetings and workshops;
- Taking and distributing meeting minutes;
- Drafting, proofing and formatting correspondence;
- Preparing and coordinating communications including internal announcements, postings, and other channels;
- Assembling data and preparing reports, updating manuals and other correspondence, as required;
- Preparing PowerPoint and other presentation materials;
- Coordinating travel arrangements;
- Maintaining corporate files;
- Coordinating responses to clients and other third-party inquiries; and,
- Providing general administrative assistance.
Job Requirements:
Candidates should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat. Candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience in a related position. In addition, preferred candidates will possess the following qualities and strengths:
- Excellent organizational skills (ability to prioritize, multi-task, effectively manage time);
- Excellent written and oral communications;
- Superior spelling, grammar and proofreading skills;
- Excellent note and minute recording skills;
- A proactive disposition (takes initiative);
- Ability to work independently;
- Handles confidential and sensitive information discreetly;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a team player;
- Positive, support-oriented attitude;
- Friendly, pleasant manner;
- Good problem solver with the ability to identify alternative solutions;
- Ability to travel occasionally within Canada; and
- Experience with SharePoint (preferable but not required).
- Ability to communicate in French (written, oral and comprehension) will be considered a strong asset.
